There has been some fuss in the media over the upcoming program, Eaten Alive, in which a man wearing a specially designed suit will attempt to be eaten by a green anaconda. The program, which has already been filmed, has provoked outrage by some who claim that the film is cruel, as the snake could become injured. The man in question, Paul Rosolie, claims that the program is factual and will raise awareness of deforestation in the Amazon. Personally, I think the stunt is clearly far more about TV ratings than conservation.
The Discovery Channel has been urged not to show footage of a man being eaten alive by a snake because it is 'animal cruelty'. New Jersey native Paul Rosolie fed himself to a 30ft green anaconda in the Amazon rainforest for a program that is due to air on December.
